Sounds like a really swill guy

It won't take you too long to read one of the Opus d'Guambat, Unrepresentative Swill (Part One). Go ahead. Have a read of it. We'll wait.

Ok, now. That gives you all the background you need to get the full fright from this tidbit unearthed by Mike Carlton in his column in the Herald today:
I HAVE seen the future of the Liberal Party, and it is not a pretty sight.

The following is from an email sent by one Timothy Andrews, federal secretary of the Australian Liberal Students Federation, issuing orders for a demo against compulsory student unionism last Wednesday:

"FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS given by ANY member of the Liberal Student Executive without question. This is vital, particularly if there is the possibility for a confrontation to occur.

"MOST IMPORTANTLY, NO-ONE is to speak to any members of the media whatsoever. This is to include journalists there, as well as talk-back radio or any other form of media.

"If any member of a Liberal Club is found speaking to the media, they [sic] shall be IMMEDIATLY [sic] expelled from their relevant Liberal Club, the NSW Liberal Students Association and the Australian Liberal Students Federation. Furthurmore [sic] , if they are a member of the Young Liberals, they may face disciplinary action up to, and possibly including, expultion [sic] from the Liberal Party.

"This includes Executive Members … Presidents' [sic] of Liberal Clubs. If you are approached by the media, politely decline to comment, and IMMEDIATLY [sic] contact either Timothy Andrews or Zaya Toma.

"This shall [sic] be a great expirience [sic] for everyone, a lot of fun, and great publicity for the government and VSU!"

Timothy assured his legions that nobody may [sic] be peanalised [sic] for skipping lectures. His shaky command of English suggests an engineering student or similar.

But ignore the lousy spelling, the feeble grammar. Feel the lash of authority, the spur of fear. Here is a Liberal attorney-general in the making.

Dear Guambat, how unsympathetic you and Mr Carlton are! Do you wish to see such conservative enthusiasm thwarted? Do you want the future leaders of business, law and politics to be deprived of training opportunities for dominating the masses? Where else are financial losers, non-Anglo populations, and women going to find true leadership for the financial progress of this country? This young person is showing great aptitude for the future: for providing law and order; for plausible deniability; for fulfilling our duties under the ANZUS treaty; and for seeking a negotiated peace with Indonesia and thus ensuring a piece of that crumbly pie and a fair share of oil for Australia. You may be anxious to retract your statement or your perambulations may be restricted entirely to Guam as part of the Liberal Government's Pacific Solution to pacific dissent.
