There are many asking why it is that the Governor and/or Mayor failed to use the equipment they had on hand to evacuate people from NO before the hurricane struck. Good point. Did they have any place to take the evacuees? Any means of supporting them once they were evacuated? Don't know. From a far distance it looks like, even though there was plenty time to act, too many people in power failed to coordinate. And how much more will it cost to rectify than to have got it right in the first instance. We'll never know. It seems the more conservative you are the more you are inclined to blame local authorities, and the more liberal you are the more you are inclined to blame the feds. Bah, humbug. A pox on all their houses.
