here's what I think is the scariest part, though:

"Jiang Tianyong had bought a train ticket to Yinan some days ago, but then received a telephone call from the Beijing Judicial Bureau, a branch of the Ministry of Justice, telling him it was his "duty" to report to the bureau before taking on any sensitive case, and denying him permission to make the trip. It is not revealed how the bureau knew of his plans."

Nothing's secret in China. Whereas here in Sydney working Joes will ban together to circumvent 'the man', it seems the working Lis will trip over eachother to rat out the black sheep
