A new Black hole in the firmament
I never knew Fred Black. I met him once or twice and saw him around. He struck me as a basic guy. Straight shooter. No axes to grind. No social climber or legal superstar wannabe. Just big, friendly enough and somehow comforting to know he was around. Never pushy, his presence was known. From everything I heard, that was a general impression. I never heard a word against him.But I guess some people did and it cost him his job. And it caught the eye of the L.A.
