What's good for the goose

Is good for the goose:
"One of the delightful things about working for a public company is spending the shareholders' money.
And so it was last night at the Hordern Pavilion when Team Telstra joined such seasoned corporate entertainers as Macquarie Bank and Babcock & Brown to celebrate Rusty Crowe's latest motion picture, Cinderella Man.
A table at the dinner cost twenty grand. This seems like an awfully big whack for a company that is trumpeting the importance of saving money. As Telstra's brand new chief operations officer emailed staff the other day: "We have been working hard over the past six weeks to find the best ways to re-focus our resources to better compete and grow the company. This will involve … achieving tighter controls on spending."
Indeed, chief operating officer Greg Winn has made cost cutting something of a personal crusade. He's even spending bucketloads on pricey consultants,

Telstra's sizable public relations machine was unable to shed any light on what, if anything, wildly expensive tables at charity dinners had to do with re-focusing resources to better compete blah blah blah."
