Not quite a library, as such

Have you tried the new Google Print?

I got all excited about it when I saw this article title:
Google offers index of public domain works. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to offer the index. Just a search facility. One of the fun things about going to a library is walking through the stacks and just exploring. I only rarely have gone to a library to get some exact thing. I pour through the card catelogues, the shelves, tables, etc., looking for ideas, snippets, inspiration.

So far, Google Print looks pretty much like another search engine to me. When they put together a card catelogue equivalent, I think it'll be quite handy. Until then, dunno; slightly underwhelming.
